Moving Forward: How a Family Learns About Mental Health

Fotonovela

The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency's Mental Health Services (MHS) is pleased to introduce Salir Adelante: Como una familia aprende sobre la salud mental (Moving Forward: How a Family Learns About Mental Health). Because of their format and popularity, fotonovelas are particularly effective in engaging and educating Spanish-speakers and bilingual readers on a wide range of health issues. Fotonovela is chosen as a part of MHS' multi-year, system-wide initiative to increase awareness of, and access to, mental health services, with the intended goal of improving mental health outcomes for Latinos.

Half way there!

On behalf of the entire SOL Team we would like to thank all the Latinos who agreed to participate in the SOL study and the many groups and organizations that collaborated with us. Officially ending our first year of recruitment, your participation has allowed San Diego to reach over 2,000 participants. We truly appreciate your participation and look forward to reaching our goal of 2,000 participants more for the upcoming years. We hope you liked your experience being a part of this landmark study and we hope to stay connected with you in the coming years.

Best wishes to all for 2010!
